The Handbags

I design and make a range of handbags, there should be a style to suit everyone and all occassions. Each style has a Scottish name which I think reflects the bag. Many of my bags are unique or are produced in short runs depending on the fabric available. My bags are made in some of the finest cloth that is produced locally in Scotland and just across the the Border. I work mainly in Tweeds and Tartans that have a long rich history of being woven in the Scottish Borders. In the spring and summer I add printed cottons and linens to my collection.

THE WEE, MUCKLE AND FUNKY FANTOOSH

The Fantoosh is a real handbag that can be carried by hand. They come in either a small or larger size. They have padded handles that make them very comfortable to carry. These bags are great for an evening out, wedding or just for day to day use. The Fantoosh now come in the new “Funky” bespoke style which can be comissioned with personal lettering.

THE TAPSALTEERIE

The Tapsalteerie is a shoulder bag. It is a similar shape to the Fantoosh however has a flap which can come in the same or contrasting fabric and it comes with a wide  handmade strap that reflects the bag.

THE PEERIE AND CLOOTIE POAK

The Peerie and Clootie Poak  perfect for theat special occassion in your life. The peerie poak is a good sized clutch bag with a bias cut flap and large hand covered button. The Clootie Poak  has a short handle which allows the bag to be either carried by hand or on the shoulder giving you a little more flexibility. This wee bag looks great in tweeds, tartans and florals.

THE WEE SKEERIE AND TATTERWALLOP

The wee Skeerie and Tatterwallop are small bags with most of their seams on the outside giving them a rough look and adding to the texture of the fabric, making them just a bit different. The are great small daytime bags when you just need added colour a nd texture to an outfit.

THE LANG AND JIMPIT NEBBIES

The Lang and Jimpit Nebbies are  small everyday bags that leave you hands free. The Jimpit Nebbie has a short handle so it can be worn as a shoulderbag and the Lang nebbie has a much longer strap so the bag is worn across the bady and hangs on your hip again this bag comes in Tweeds and printed Linens.

THE KIBBLE HODDEN

The Kibble Hodden is a new bag in my collection and is one of the largest. It can come with either the short shoulderbag strap or with a longer one so you can wear it across the body. The flap on this bag is cut on the bias. This bag is large enough for an I pad and lots of other treasure. Makes a perfect everyday bag for work.

JU-C SATCHELS

Ju-C Satchels come in “wee” and ” muckle” sizes they have a long strap and are meant to be worn across the body. They have a rough textured feel to them with seams on the outside. They are made with two contrasting panels of fabric and complimentary or clashing side panels. A great all rounder bag that definately stands out from the crowd.

JU-C RUCKSACKS

Julias Rucksacks complete the collection.  They have adjustable straps and a padded back panel for your comfort they also have a small carry handle. They are made in Tweeds tartans and printed linens.

WEE BRODIE

New for 2016 the Wee Brodie is a real girly handbag perfect for a wedding or a dance, this comes either with a magnetic closure or a lovely hand covered button you can order this one in tartans tweeds or linens.

WEE MORAG

The Wee Morag is another little evening bag in a quirky boxy shape, this can come on plain or mixed colours in tweeds, tartans or printed linens.

MUCKLE JU-C SANDIE

The largest bag in the collectio with a falp closure and with a decorative button, made to be worn across the body and can easily hold an A4 file so just right for the office.

WEE JU-C SANDIE

Similar to the muckle version but a wee bit smaller this can be ordered either as a shoulder bag or as an across the body bag and comes in tweed and tartan.

THE NEW FUNKY RANGE

The new Funky range of bags are based on all the styles of bags but each one is unique with wording machine embroidered on to the bag, this can be the name of the bag or whatever you like.  This is a slightly more expensive range due to the amount of work in each one. and they are great fun. Just ask for details.

Notes

All bags are fully lined have a button and elastic closure and internal pockets which are finished of with handcovered buttons. All the bags have an internal structure but are soft enough to hold quite a lot of things and are great for travelling as they are not to heavy and can be packed flat in a case.
